I have been neglecting this blog for quite some time and I feel bad. So here are some stuff that I did last summer, which I had planned on uploading but never did until now.

The first is from my beatboards in Ricardo's class. I chose the film Duma, my favorite! Such a cute cheetah. Apparently it's a true story [to some extent].

I'm hard at work on my graduation stuff. Mayhaps I will load those but for now, these will have to suffice.

Omg this piece was crazy stressful. First assignment in background painting and he just wanted it fully finished with color and everything by week 2. I was so stressed!!! But I'm glad it came out good. He liked it except I was an hour late that day. hahaha I had no idea too until I walked into class. Horrible isnt it. I just have to change some things to this base on the crit I got and then I can put it in my portfolio.

So this term I am taking Inventive Character, Bkgrnd Painting, Graphic Design for Ent Arts, and an academic class, Light & Color. So far so good... so much work though. It's good for me because I've been so lazy the past term, just working and relaxing at home. I'm paying for it now! I feel like I haven't slept in a week.
Anyway, I'm going to do Wicked for inventive and background. Kill two birds with one stone. It's also easier because when I'm sketching from one class to another, I don't have to change my mindset. I can't wait for a relaxing weekend! I guess relaxing is the wrong word... more like I can't wait to have a productive and fun weekend? haha I guess we'll see.

Elphaba took me a while to get it right. But I'm happy with the result. Can't wait to design the other characters.

Since I put the story in Africa - african based - I decided to put the birthplace of Elphaba in a volcano. I just thought that it would be cool. Eastwood gave me the idea of a water cave and then I turned it into a volcano... more epic. And then of course the teacher was like .. no I don't care about the lava, which makes sense [he wanted me to explain shape language] but I have no idea how I came up with this layout. I really didn't think of ooo lava... dangerous. Though of course it adds to it. I did start with shapes but funny thing was I couldn't vocalize my thought process in class. And I think I still have a problem with that. I hope I'll be able to get it because he is such a diva about it.

For our graphics class, the teacher loves Dewey Cox the movie so we're doing a piece for that movie. As Leslie puts it its like a gag piece that we don't want to do. I procrastinated so much on this because I had no idea what I was doing. Luckily he liked what I had in class today so I hope I can get it to look real good by the end.

Back in school again

It's been so long since I posted! I am just lazy about scanning and uploading. I know I should start scanning everything so that when I put my portfolio together, I won't have a migraine.
School started, it's week 4 - well end of week 4 right now and I am so tired and stressed out already! I think it's only because I've been going to work too for the first few weeks of school and this is the first week that I don't have to work! I quit just in time because I seriously don't think I can handle anymore. I really want to sleep in tomorrow but I have an appointment way early in the morning, which apparently is a mistake that I always make. For some reason I always set it in the morning but I always underestimate how tired I'll be.
So here are some stuff that I've been doing lately...
Random thought bubble...I'm watching Breakfast at Tiffany's right now and there's a couple of extras in the background and they're acting weird. lol maybe that's how extras were supposed to be back then... not talking to each other but laughing silently and smiling randomly.

Creative perspective gives me stress. Color theory is just time management but c. perspective is too scary and the teacher intimidates me. At the same time I just wanna be lazy and not redo any of the homework.... So I just decided to color some scenes lol because he seemed impressed by color.

Omg its week 13. I'm somehow not stressed at the moment but I can't guarantee that when Sunday comes. I can't wait till this is ooveerr. It's been way too long yet at the same time it went by so fast. Well, isn't that how it always is.

My board! My paintings aren't finished yet. They all need fixes. But I have to say, it looks good against the black. When they are that small. lol
